Sharing joy and knowledge from an ordinary life

Starters and Plenaries

The starters and plenaries contained in this collection have each featured in my teaching over the last 7 years and are some of my favourites (they didn’t all originate in my head and I have connected to the creator wherever I can). Many of them are interchangeable as starters or plenaries.

I have recently (Oct 2016) refreshed them and begun to add connections to the ‘Six strategies for effective learning‘ from the Learning Scientists . As with any learning, I will continue to update the collection (adding to the evidence side of things) and tweaking activities but if you have other activities you think should be in my collection then please feel free to share them with me!

My writing commitment: I’m learning to honour my thoughts. I’m learning that my words can be shared before I’ve connected all the dots or learned everything there is to know. My writing can be a snapshot of a single moment in continually-evolving time.
